The Rockland After-School Alliance is a collaboration between Youthlinks and RSU #13 that provides free after school, vacation and summer programming to Rockland area middle school students.

2014 Late Spring Session After-School Clubs

Registrations open April 4, 2014

Session runs April 28 - June 5

Open to students in 5th-7th grade

 

How to Register:

  • Check out the program descriptions
  • Fill out the registration form online, in the school office, or by phone (594-2221)
  • Space is limited. Registration is recommended by February 14th, 2014
  • If you don't make it into an activity we will add you to the waiting list. You will receive a confirmation letter with more information by February 26th.

Important Information:

  • RASA programs are FREE!
  • Free snackes served daily
  • RASA is open to students in 5th-7th grade
  • Drop off at 2:15 & pick up at 4:30 at RDMS gym entrance.  There is NO BUS HOME.

RASA Club Descriptions

 

Play With Your Food, Mondays, 2:30 – 4:30
That's right - we said it. Each week will focus on a new art project using
edible ingredients. Transform everyday fruits, vegetables, and other foods
into creative works of art.

Cooking Matters, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Looking for a new round of kid chefs to cook healthier meals with more skill! We will be working with a professional chef and nutritionist to create delicious meals that are as good for you as they taste. Best of all; take home awesome dishes to impress your family and friends! Students with food allergies please note that we will be handling many different types of food. Parents will receive more information upon registration. *This club is only for students who have not received a “certificate of completion” previously from this program.

Arts in Action, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Ever wish you were a famous artist in the community? This is a chance to
help the mid-coast by taking on art projects. Become a leader with a
vision! Showcase your talents and help your community, like painting a
mural for your school or the local recreation center, and be a part of
history as you beautify the town.

Animal Care Team, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
The ever popular Animal Care Team is back! Join us as we care for animals
in need in the mid-coast area, primarily at PAWS adoption center in Camden.

Drama Club, Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Join the club! Get an introduction to theatre and have a great time
acting out. Play acting games, practice your improve skills, and learn what
goes into a play production with RyJack!

School Garden Army Jr., Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Ready to get a little dirty? Join this club to explore all things plants
and garden related. We will be working on getting the Youthlinks garden
growing and starting plants from seed. Can you grow your own vegetables?
Now is the time to find out!

Fishy Fishy Cross My Ocean, Tuesdays 2:30 - 4:30
Do you love all things ocean? We will be exploring local beaches, studying the science behind our fabvorite ocean creatures and geting active with some ocean themed games!

Art Adventures, Wednesdays 2:30 - 4:30
Want to get outside this Spring? Adventure into the great outdoors to explore and create epic art! Join the ranks of famous artists like Andy Goldsworthy and use materials from nature to make a big visual impact. We will take field trips to beaches, work with rocks and sand, go hiking as photographers and try plein air painting!

Celebrate Spring, Wednesdays 2:30 - 4:30
Let's welcome the wonderful season of Spring! We'll enjoy this beautiful season and welcome the sun through outdoor adventures, working with our community, constructing crafts, preparing and eating food and playing games!

Animal Adventurers, Thursdays 2:30 - 4:30
Learn more about all the great opportunities to interact with different kinds of animals around the Midcoast. In this club we will be doing different animal centered activities each week. Activities will inclue field trips to farms, projects with cats and dogs and other animal themed fun and learning.
