The Rockland After-School Alliance is a collaboration between Youthlinks and RSU #13 that provides free after school, vacation and summer programming to Rockland area middle school students.

Open to students in 5th-7th grade
How to Register:
- Check out the program descriptions
- Fill out the registration form online, in the school office, or by phone (594-2221)
- Space is limited. Registration is recommended by February 14th, 2014
- If you don't make it into an activity we will add you to the waiting list. You will receive a confirmation letter with more information by February 26th.
- RASA programs are FREE!
- Free snackes served daily
- RASA is open to students in 5th-7th grade
- Drop off at 2:15 & pick up at 4:30 at RDMS gym entrance. There is NO BUS HOME.

RASA Club Descriptions
Play With Your Food, Mondays, 2:30 – 4:30
That's right - we said it. Each week will focus on a new art project using
edible ingredients. Transform everyday fruits, vegetables, and other foods
into creative works of art.
Microscopic Art, Mondays, 2:30 – 4:30
Looks through the scope and see a whole new world to inspire your art
creations! Explore different mediums and new ways of seeing things. We
will use printmaking, painting, sculpture, and more to recreate what you see
with your own angle. Watch everyday objects take on a whole new look and
look at your own artwork under the lens!
Nature Explorers, Mondays, 2:30 – 4:30
Shake off those indoor winter jitters and get outside! In this club we
will go on hikes, visit a local nature center and explore some of the
science behind Maine's beautiful views. Get ready to go on an adventure!
Cooking Matters, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Looking for a new round of kid chefs to cook healthier meals with more skill! We will be working with a professional chef and nutritionist to create delicious meals that are as good for you as they taste. Best of all; take home awesome dishes to impress your family and friends! Students with food allergies please note that we will be handling many different types of food. Parents will receive more information upon registration. *This club is only for students who have not received a “certificate of completion” previously from this program.
Arts in Action, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Ever wish you were a famous artist in the community? This is a chance to
help the mid-coast by taking on art projects. Become a leader with a
vision! Showcase your talents and help your community, like painting a
mural for your school or the local recreation center, and be a part of
history as you beautify the town.
Animal Care Team, Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
The ever popular Animal Care Team is back! Join us as we care for animals
in need in the mid-coast area, primarily at PAWS adoption center in Camden.
Animal Art, Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Do you love animals and all things animal? This art club is for you! We
will make portraits of animals, study animal photography, sculpt miniature
clay animals and create animal puppets. Unleash your inner animal artist.
Fitness Club, Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Learn different ways to stay active and healthy during the cold days of winter! Each week we will learn a new and fun form of physical activity such as dance, martial arts, and aerobics. We will also learn about other components of physical fitness and make some healthy snacks!
CSI, Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Love to watch CSI? Dream of catching the bad guys and using all those
cool microscopes and chemical analyzers? Then join our team of Crime Scene
Investigators! Each week a "crime" will be committed and it will be your
job to solve it before the end of the day. Just make sure you catch the
Farm Hands, Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Don't you just love cows? Have you ever wanted to learn more about these
fuzzy creatures? Now is your chance! Join the Farm Hands program and work
directly with calves at Aldermere Farm in Rockport. Be sure to MOOOVE fast
because this program is sure to be a blast!
Photography with iPads, Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Create one-of-a-kind photographs using iPads. Learn about composition, lighting, and choosing cool subject matter. Use the most popular apps on the market to capture, explore and edit images while gaining knowledge about new technologies. RASA will supply the iPads.
Drama Club, Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Join the club! Get an introduction to theatre and have a great time
acting out. Play acting games, practice your improve skills, and learn what
goes into a play production with RyJack!
Coastal Children's Museum Helpers, Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Explore a world of fun and help out the community children! Each week we
will be going to the Coastal Children's Museum where we will learn about all
the fun exhibits they have to offer. We will then become helpers in the
museum ourselves and assist them with fun projects such as teaching and
reading to children.
School Garden Army Jr., Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:30
Ready to get a little dirty? Join this club to explore all things plants
and garden related. We will be working on getting the Youthlinks garden
growing and starting plants from seed. Can you grow your own vegetables?
